* Remarks.

In the table there can be some confuses in exact subordination of units on this or that time period, due to different changes in names of the fronts. Exactly:

• Don Front - formed on Sept. 28'42 from renaming of the Stalingrad Front
• South-Eastern Front - formed on Aug. 7'42 based on the part of troops of the Stalingrad Front. On Sept. 28 was renamed into the Stalingrad Front
• South-Western Front - formed on Oct. 22'42.
• Stalingrad Front - formed on July 12'42. On Sept. 28 was renamed into the Don Front. At the same time South-Eastern Front was renamed into the Stalingrad Front. On Jan. 1'43 was renamed into the Southern Front
• Southern Front - Disbanded on July 28'42. On Jan. 1'43 was renamed from the Stalingrad Front
